Researchers at the Laboratory of Microbial Oceanography (LOMIC / OOB, CNRS / UPMC) and the Laboratory of Oceanology and Geosciences (LOG, CNRS / Université du Littoral Cote d’Opale / University of Lille 1) collected during the campaign KEOPS2 in the Southern Ocean, a unique data set combining carbon flux measurements and microbial biodiversity. The researchers were able to show that there was a link between the diversity of marine bacterial communities and their productivity.
