The glaciers, an observatory of climate, Antarctic component

This project is the renewal of GLACIOCLIM SAMBA program, which was initiated in 2004. GLACIOCLIM SAMBA is the Antarctic component of the GLACIOCLIM SNO, in order to detect, monitor and understand climate and mass balance variability and change in the glacial environment. The program proposes surveying and maintaining the surface mass balance networks at Cap Prud’homme (CP, summer and winter surveys), along a 156 km transect (1 survey/yr), and at Concordia (1 survey/year or more) and the meteorological instruments deployed near Cap Prud’homme. Special meteorological and glaciological observing periods are also planned in order to analyze particular meteorological processes.
