Adaptive polymorphism, climate warning, and resilience of Antarctic annelid species

The POLARIS programme aims at studying the level of polymorphism of several species of antarctic annelids, and the their resilience potential. To that end, species have been chosen for their abundance and the possibility to do experimental work at the Dumont d’Urville base. Three summer campaigns have already been dedicated to this programme, with two researchers involved each year. The programme should have reached completion after the summer 2015-2016 campaign but the frozen samples were unfortunately degraded following a problem with the liquid nitrogen dewar on the maritime return trip. This additional year is requested to repeat the sampling and experimental work performed during the last campaign.
