GEOSCOPE – EOST : Global Seismological Observatory

The main objective of the “SEISMOLOGY/OBS” program is the continuous, broad-band, high-resolution observation of ground motion, especially in the generally under-sampled high latitudes of the southern hemisphere. Recorded and quality controlled data are freely distributed to the international scientific community both in real- and delayed-time. Our data contribute equally to global and southern-hemisphere tomographic studies, to seismicity studies, and to studies of microseismic noise. Our goals are to maintain or improve the quality of the data, to improve the robustness of the data recording and distribution procedures, and to increase their national and international utilization.
