The second Kerguelen Plateau Symposium

The second Kerguelen Plateau Symposium on Marine Ecosystems and Fisheries, to which the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle and the Institut polaire français contributed, was held in mid-November 2017 in Hobart, Tasmania. The meeting brought together more than 70 researchers studying in the Australian and French regions of the Kerguelen.uelen plateau have been published and can be consulted online by clicking here.

Presentations focused on advances in knowledge of marine ecosystems, marine geomorphology and oceanography, marine policy developments, fish resource assessment and management, biology, biodiversity and conservation in the region.

The Symposium ended with a synthesis session during which a common theme was realized: the importance of the Kerguelen Plateau as a natural laboratory in the face of climate change.
